Lane Alexander is the founder and director of Chicago's annual "Rhythm World" tap dance festival and he co-founded the Chicago Human Rhythm Project with Kelly Michaels in 1988 He has also served as Chairman of the Board of the International Tap Association (ITA).

Chicago Human Rhythm Project (CHRP)
When CHRP was co-founded in 1988 by Lane Alexander and Kelly Michaels it was primarily a performing tap dance duo. Over the years it has evolved into an organization focused on celebrating and preserving the art of tap dancing through performances, instruction, presentations, and events.

Rhythm World
Annual summer celebration of tap dancing founded in 1991 and directed by Lane Alexander. The event is held in Chicago and it features tap dancing workshops, and live stage performances.

American Rhythm Center
Percussive dance center opened by Lane Alexander's Chicago Human Rhythm Project in 2012. Home to more than thirty partners offering classes in tap dancing, Afro-fusion dance, Bollywood, modern dance, hip hop, Capoeira, yoga, fitness, and dance exercise. Located on the third floor of Chicago's Fine Arts Building at 410 South Michigan.
