Lusie Jones was inducted into the American Tap Dance Foundation's Tap Dancing Hall of Fame in 2016.

Career of Ludie Jones

1930's
in the mid 1930's Ludie toured England in the chorus line of "Lew Leslie's Blackbirds of 34". When she returned to the United States, she formed "The Lang Sisters” with Marion Worthy and Peggy Wharton.

1940's and 1950's:
She formed the group "The Three Poms" in 1941 with Geraldine Ball and Canadian dancer Sylvia Warner. The trio performed through the early 1950's.

1980's
Ludie Jones was featured in the musical "Shades of Harlem" in 1984 and the production toured internationally. Also in 1984 she began teaching senior citizens to tap dance at the Kennedy Center in Harlem under the name "Tapping Seniors".

2000's
Ludie Jones was honored at the 2008 St. Louis Tap Festival by being presented with an award from the Robert L. Reed Tap Heritage Foundation. Ludie jones died in New York on October 3, 2018.
