NAME: Mable Lee
Mable Lee was a singer and jazz tap dancer who began performing at age 4. She started performing with big bands at local clubs at age 9, and by age 12 she appeared regularly at the famous Top Hat African American nightclub on Auburn Avenue in the city of Atlanta. Lee moved to New York City in 1940 to pursue a career singing and dancing. She performed at several New York nightclubs including dancing in the chorus at the West End Theater on 125th Street. She appeared at the Palladium in London for several months.
