Sydney Burtis began tap dancing at age 4. She played Keely Gibson at age 12 in the Canada and U.S. tour of "Billy Elliot". She was named a Young Arts National finalist and silver award recipient for tap dance in at age 16 in 2017. She competed in tap dance on episode 4 of Season 16 of the television program "So You Think You Can Dance" at age 18. She co-founded Florida's Orlando Tap Festival with Marshall Ellis.
