1986
American Tap Dance Foundation
Tony Waag co-founded the American Tap Dance Foundation with Brenda Bufalino and Charles "Honi" Coles in 1986. The organization was originally known as Woodpeckers Tap Dance Center, and it offered tap dancing classes and events for all levels and ages of dancers. In 2001 the organization was renamed and became known as the American Tap Dance Foundation.

2001
Tap City Festival
Tony Waag founded New York City's "Tap City" festival in 2001, an annual event that features workshops and performances by tap dancing professionals and masters from all over the world, tap jams, student showcases, panel discussions, lectures, and film screenings.

2002
Tap Dance Hall of Fame
Tony Waag created the International Tap Dance Hall of Fame in 2002 to honoor and celebrate the contributions of legendary tap dancers and preserve their legacies.

2009 Created and staged the touring production of " Thank You Gregory: A Tribute to the Legends of Tap"

2010
Tony Waag opened and became the director of a New York City tap dancing school known as the "American Tap Dance Center" in 2010. The school offers tap dancing instruction for ages and levels of dancers.
